RULE OF THE RUNWAY

rule of the runway

Every designer’s dream starts and ends at a rock solid fashion show – A red hot RUNWAY!!

Models hitting the ramp with exclusive designer collection and people around appreciating, adoring the efforts and creativity is the ultimate aphrodisiac for a designer!

People sitting around the head ramp are not only the admirers, but also the critics of the fashion world.

So it becomes even more important and crucial to give away the best shot.

So, is there any set, formulated approach towards a successful runway, or is it just about the technical correctness in designs?

Well, it’s a blend of both. On one side it’s highly important to have a collection which is technically clear and correct.

On the other side the presentation and theme of the show becomes the other equally important aspect of the successful runway!

To speak about the rules of the runway, following are the major points that would count a lot to make a show hit or flop:

RULE #1 | HAVE A PECULIAR THEME/ CONCEPT

Long gone are the days when the fashion shows were done with only ramp and models. It’s now the time wherein designers are breaking the boundaries of ramp, models & dresses.

Whether we talk about the Calvin Klein’s firefighter inspired show of New York Fashion Week 2018 or Karl Lagerfeld showcasing his fall 2018 collection in a woods (forest) setup with fallen leaves all around.

Designers are now coming up with something out of the box – yet to the collection!

RULE #2 | COORDINATED THEME AND COLLECTION

Though a strange theme of the show can really attract a lot of eye balls, but to have a critically fantastic runway, it’s really important to have the theme going with collection.

Theme could be as weird as anything but a deep connection with the main highlight of the collection is of utmost importance.

Every collection has a part of fashion forecast, designer’s concept, color of the upcoming season etc. thus a deep connection with the theme of the presentation is needed to chalk out a web of understanding.

Rule #3 |REVERED WALK MUSIC

Models walking on enticing music are the best vision we can imagine in a runway.

Music coordinated with walk, theme and collection concept is very critical.

We still remember the ultimate seductive show stopper walk of Yanis Marshall on Pretty “Hi Fashion” feat. Meli. Such kind of casting walk makes not only the walk but also the show memorable.

RULE #4 | RELEVANT POPULAR SHOW STOPPER

Whether it’s Aishwarya Rai Bachchan walking for Manish Malhotra, Saif Ali Khan walking for Shantanu & Nikhil or Karan Johar for Falguni & Shane Peacock, show becomes remarkably hit & hot!

Everyone waits for the climax of the show and when we see an unexpected person walking the head ramp, it gives a special goosebumps.
